Dr. Ebert welcomes you to Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital in Junction City, KSDr. Julie Ebert

Dr. Julie Ebert is the owner and managing veterinarian at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital. She is a North Central Kansas native and grew up near Wakefield. Dr. Julie graduated from Kansas State University in 1996 and she has enjoyed practicing small animal medicine in both Manhattan and Junction City.

Dr. Ebert has special interests in small animal internal medicine,  soft tissue surgery, behavioral medicine as well as exotic animal medicine and surgery.  She and her husband Chris, have 3 adult children: Austin, Emily and Adam and 2 grandchildren. 

Her family's pets include a lab mix named, Buddy, a DSH cat named Bandit, and 4 horses- Scanner, Mo, Chance and Barbie.  Dr. Ebert also enjoys her personal cow /calf operation.  We would love to have you join our pet care family at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital.


Valeria Van DerdysValeria Van Derdys, DVM, MPH

Dr. Valeria became a staff member at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 2023 and is accepting new clients / patients. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico (Cayey) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2017. She then continued her education and earned a Master of Public Health with a focus on Infectious Diseases and Zoonosis from Virginia Tech in 2019. In May of 2023, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine after completing her clinical year at Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Valeria has a particular interest in internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology and ophthalmology. She enjoys furthering her knowledge in those areas whenever possible. Dr. Valeria and her partner have a small family currently, which includes two rescue dogs from the beautiful island of St. Kitt's, Phillip and Leo.

Their latest addition is Aura, an Irish setter puppy. Having been born and raised in Puerto Rico, her hobbies include spending time on beaches and rivers. Here in Kansas Dr. Valeria enjoys seeking out good restaurants, hiking, working out and spending time with her family. Dr. Valeria is fluent in two languages : English and Spanish! Melody WinkelMelody Winkel

Melody has lived in Kansas since she was three years old. She is currently working towards her veterinary technician degree. After graduating from that degree, she plans on working towards becoming a marine/aquatic veterinary technician or receiving a marine biology degree.

She has a cat, two dogs, and five freshwater fish. She can’t wait to be a part of you and your pet’s life.

Hello! My name is Christyn Sokei. I have been a veterinary technician for 13 years. I started out in Hawaii, where I was born and raised. My love for this field began at a young age and I love to help , to save, and to educate all our clients/patients.

I moved to Kansas with my husband due to the military and we have 2 legged kiddos. I also have 3 pups and 1 kitty. I am currently doing to school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician and can't wait to meet you and your pets!

Hi! My name is Nikolas Siler and I have been a vet tech for almost 6 months. I started out working in kneenls at my home clinic in Arkansas. I moved to Kansas to study to become a veterinarian at K-State.

I have two dogs and a cat back home that I miss very much. However , I look forward to developing and expanding my skills and education here at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital.

Hello! My name is Samantha Miller and I have been a veterinary technician for almost 5 years. I started as a veterinary assistant and receptionist back in Maryland, which is where I was born and raised. I also worked in Florida for 2 years before moving to Kansas for my husband's military career.

I have 1 dog , two cats and we are expecting our first child this FALL !! I am alos in the process of obtaining my RVT through PENN Foster and my dream is to become a veterinarian. I look forward to working with all your furry or scaly family members!

Hi! My name is Graci Masters and I am the friendly face you see when you walk through the door at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital. I am finishing my senior year at KSU and plan to apply for veterinary school in September of 2025.

I have two pitties named Newt and Quinn and two kitties named Benjamin and Randi. I can't wait to meet you and your four legged family members.

My name is Nicole Klein and I am starting my veterinary technician journey. I began school in October of 2024. I have been with large animals my whole life, and I started at FHVH to get experience with small animals. I have been loving every moment of it. We have a great team and great people.

Outside of work, my husband and I have six children and we raise goats. I love spending time with our children and teaching them new things and learning together.
