Dr. Julie Ebert
Dr. Julie Ebert is the owner and managing veterinarian at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital. She is a North Central Kansas native and grew up near Wakefield. Dr. Julie graduated from Kansas State University in 1996 and she has enjoyed practicing small animal medicine in both Manhattan and Junction City. Dr. Ebert has a special interest in preventive medicine, behavioral medicine and exotics. She and her husband Chris have three teenagers, Austin, Emily and Adam. Her family's pets include Buddy, a lab mix, two cats - Sparkle and Coal, 6 horses and 4-H steers and heifers.

Dr. Brittney Forrest
Dr. Brittney Forrest graduated veterinary school from St. George’s University, and she completed her clinical year at the University of Illinois. She is originally from northern New Jersey, but has lived in Grenada, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and now Kansas. She’s wanted to become a veterinarian since she was young and has always enjoyed working with animals. She currently lives with her partner, their dog, and their two cats. She loves what she does and can’t wait to meet your furry friends.

Penelope Karl, RVT
Penelope is from El Paso, TX; where she studied to be a veterinary technician at Pima Medical Institute and graduated in February 2021. She passed her VTNE and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Kansas in September 2021. She currently lives with her husband, their 3 cats, and their tarantula. In her spare time she loves to read, listen to music, and cook. She started working at Flint Hills in December of 2020. She enjoys her job and has fun meeting patients and their owners.

Kristopher Shatto
Kristopher was born and raised in Abilene, Kansas. He attended Colby Community College and received an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Nursing. In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events and taking his dogs on hikes and walks. He owes his passion for veterinary medicine to his early childhood pets, RJ and Duke. Kristopher enjoys helping pets live longer and healthier lives. He looks forward to helping out your pets lead happy and healthy lives.

Hi, my name is Christyn. I have been a veterinary technician for 3 years now. I am from the beautiful place called Kauai. I was brought to Kansas by the military. I grew up with lots of animals and always dreamed about being in the veterinary field. I am glad I get to live my dream and love what I do.

Melody Winkel
Melody has lived in Kansas since she was three years old. She is currently working towards her veterinary technician degree. After graduating from that degree, she plans on working towards becoming a marine/aquatic veterinary technician or receiving a marine biology degree. She has a cat, two dogs, and five freshwater fish. She can’t wait to be a part of you and your pet’s life.

Megan Burkett
Hello all. I am Megan and I studied at Ashworth online college for my vet assistant degree. I have 6 fur babies: Grim a yorkie mix, Sauvy a daschund, Mack a rottweiler, Oreo a border collie mix and Hella and Tyr both are Mastiff mixes. I am originally from Michigan. My goal is to one day open a rescue in Texas, where my husband and I hope to retire some day!
