Dr. Julie Ebert
Dr. Julie Ebert is the owner and managing veterinarian at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital. She is a North Central Kansas native and grew up near Wakefield. Dr. Julie graduated from Kansas State University in 1996, and she has enjoyed practicing small animal medicine in both Manhattan and Junction City.
Dr. Ebert has special interests in small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, behavioral medicine as well as exotic animal medicine and surgery. She and her husband Chris have 3 adult children: Austin, Emily, and Adam, and 2 grandchildren.
Her family's pets include a lab mix named Buddy, a DSH cat named Bandit, and 4 horses- Scanner, Mo, Chance, and Barbie. Dr. Ebert also enjoys her personal cow /calf operation. We would love to have you join our pet care family at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Sara Taylor
Dr. Taylor is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally she is from the White Mountains area of New Hampshire. She developed a strong passion for nature and animals.
Dr. Taylor has experience working with both small animals and horses. She is Fear Free Certified and is dedicated to providing compassionate, low-stress handling while building strong relationships with both her patients and their owners. Outside of the hospital, she lives on a horse ranch with her family, where she enjoys caring for her own animals , spending time outdoors and riding horses. Please stop in and meet Dr. Sara Taylor.

Melody Winkel
Melody has lived in Kansas since she was three years old. She is currently working towards her veterinary technician degree. After graduating from that degree, she plans on working towards becoming a marine/aquatic veterinary technician or receiving a marine biology degree.
She has a cat, two dogs, and five freshwater fish. She can’t wait to be a part of you and your pet’s life.

Christyn Sokei
Hello! My name is Christyn Sokei. I have been a veterinary technician for 13 years. I started in Hawaii, where I was born and raised. My love for this field began at a young age and I love to help, to save, and to educate all our clients/patients.
I moved to Kansas with my husband due to the military, and we have 2-legged kiddos. I also have 3 pups and 1 kitty. I am currently attending school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician and can't wait to meet you and your pets!

Hey there ! I am Jada and I am currently working at Flint Hills Veterinary Hospital while pursing my pre-vet degree at Kansas State University. My family lives in Thayer Kansas . I am also completing my Veterinary Technician degree online which will help me build hands-on skills in animal care. Balancing school , work and managing my own dog's health care has taught me a lot about responsibility and dedication. I am passionate about animal health and committed to growing in the veterinary field. My goal is to continue learning and make a meaningful impact in the lives of pets and their owners.

Nicole Ballou
Hi All! My name is Nicole Ballou and I have been a veterinary technician for a year and a half. I will hopefully graduate in 2027 from Penn Foster tech school. I am recently married and we have 6 beautiful children. I have always wanted to help animals since I was a little girl.
When I am not at work, I am busy with our goat farm, 4-H, baseball, horse back riding and my kid's activities! I absolutely love hunting with my husband and spending time with our kiddos. Hi! My name is Carly Bontrager and I am currently a Senior at Kansas State University. I will graduate in December of 2026 with a bachelor of animal science.
